Rodding/canning

Trio was the leading supplier of technology to the once very large Norwegian fish canning industry.  The speciality was processing and canning of sprats and small herring in square cans.

Today Trio can offer machines and tecnology for;

  1. rodding and canning of smoked sprats
  2. filleting, skinning, cooking and canning of skin and boneless sardines. 
     

  • Trio TM Automatic Rodding Machine

    The rodding machine will rod up to 2200 sprats per minute.  The fish is orientated, put on rods and rods are automatically placed in a smoking frame.
      

     

    The rodding machine will automatically orientate the fish, head first, belly up and shoot a rod through the heads.  The rod is then automatically placed on a smoking frame. 

    The machine was developed more than 40 years ago and Trio has supplid several hundred machines. 

    The machine has been redesigned several times and are now built from stainless steel and non-corrosive materials.


  • Smoked sprats line

    Trio can supply single machines and line with varying degrees of automation for producing smoked sprats in cans.

     



    A typical line for smoked sprats will be as outlined below;

     

     

  • Skin and boneles sardines

    Trio can supply single machines and complete line for producing skin & boneless sardins.


    • The filletting machine produce butterfly fillets which are tranferred automatically to the Trio FDS skinning machine. 
    • The butterfly fillets are skinned without breaking the fillets apart. 
    • The fillets are cooked, folded and put in cans.
    • Cans are filled with "sauce etc", closed ans sterilized. 

    The transfer from filletting to skinning is automatic and very gentle.  Together with the Trio FDS skinning it is unique for the process. 

    This way it is possible to produce skin and boneless sardines with less tha one tenth of the labour needed for producing the same amount skin and boneless sardines the traditional way.
